Thomas G. Burns, Psy.D., ABPP

Thomas G. Burns, Psy.D., ABPP is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. He is also the Practice Director of Neuropsychology and Chief of the Psychology Section at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. He also has been in private practice for over 23 years at Peachtree Neuropsychological Associates, PC. Dr. Burns received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in the Biological Basis of Behavior. He went on to obtain his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, Georgia. Specialty training in Neuropsychology was completed at the Medical College of Pennsylvania & St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Following completion of a postdoctoral residency at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Dr. Burns was licensed as a Psychologist in Georgia in 1996.
He is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) within the specialty of Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology. He is also a board certified subspecialist in Pediatric Neuropsychology. Over the years, Dr. Burns has pursued research and clinical interests involving neuropsychological evaluations for patients diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, concussion, congenital heart disease, neurosurgical intervention, and birth trauma. Dr. Burns is married and has four daughters, living in Atlanta, GA for the past 30 years.
